Asana, Meditazione

Pranayama

We continue our journey in the 8 Anga; today I will talk about the PRANAYAMA …

The word Pranayama, in Sanskrit, is made up of two words.

• PRANA, universal energy

• YAMA expansion.

So it is easy to understand that UNIVERSAL ENERGY IS IN EXPANSION, this energy is not only outside in the Cosmos, but also in each of us. It usually comes

Identified with the RESPIRO, in fact this energy flows inside us with in inspiration at birth and abandons us with the exhalation to death.

In Yoga, PRANAYAMA is associated with breathing techniques, thanks to these “exercises” it is possible to adjust the VITAL STRENGTH, control its process and expand it.

According to the ancient Yogis, our Prana flows through the 72000 energy channels, throughout the body, directing the breath with Consciousness, one day we will be able to send it to the areas where we need it most; but before we talk about this we should learn to “breathe”.

Many times we have had a very short breath, not constant in moments of nervousness and many other times when we are calm and in peace with what surrounds us breathing is regular, calm, slow. Well our body and our mind acts accordingly to certain daily episodes, with PRANAYAMA we should acquire a certain awareness to regulate everything.

By practicing Pranayama, we could achieve incredible results; we will eliminate toxins much better, we will improve blood and lymphatic circulation, we will help digestion, free our mind from negative thoughts and strengthen our immune system.

It is a panacea for everything and everything.

But how should we do?

So … there are many techniques, I recommend first a practice, I would like to say that first we must get a good awareness of our body with the Asanas, who prepare us both in the positions to be held, but also to have an awareness of our body.

The basic things to keep always imprinted in our mind, is to perform the Pranayama with the teachers able to “accompany us” at the beginning of this path as does the mother with her daughter taking her by the hand.

The best time to practice Pranayama is the morning when our body and mind are rested; we can do it in the meditation position paying attention to keep the back straight; we must do it on an empty stomach, after the Asanas and before the Meditation; every time we finish the breathing exercises, let’s take a few minutes in Savasana.

Let’s start from here, listening and learning to Respirare Energia Vitale.
