Mantra?

La parola MANTRA è formata da due parole sanscrite;

MAN che significa Mente, Pensiero, Respiro, e

Most of us, as soon as we arrive in the world of Yoga, hear of Mantra, whether in a group of practical lesson or meditation, but we can not understand what they are talking about “these aliens” because we do not know what this word is .

I will try to talk about it in a simple way, in order to explain what it is.

The word MANTRA is made up of two Sanskrit words;

MAN which means Mind, Thought, Breath, and

TRA means, that protects, that liberates, that acts.

So we already have an idea of what these words mean, but we wonder and then?

Mantra is a sequence of words, as if it were an “almost magical sacred” formula for ourselves; it connects us to our profound being, acting on our unconscious, freeing our mind.

Their fundamental value in reciting them, or in singing them, is the SOUND that derives from them. The vibration that emanates, envelops the whole body every single cell; the universe, the body, the thoughts all produce vibrations.

It has been discovered that by producing a vibrating sound our body and our mind somehow derive benefit, calming our thoughts and our emotions bring us back “in peace” by concentrating our consciousness.

The most famous Mantra we all know is the OM, which is called BIJA MANTRA, that is the Mantra Seed, which is the basis of all the Mantra; it is the original sound that created the entire Universe, in many classes of yoga it is the opening of the lesson, a greeting that we want to do to connect ourselves to the vibrations that resonate in our body but also to the energies that surround us.

But how to know which is “Our Mantra”? Well we must first try to understand what we need, if we need peace, love, awareness, capturing the most “Our”; it can be the OM, it can be “Baba Nam Kevalam” which means all of infinite love, there is “Om Shanti” which favors inner peace; I would start with a simple one to memorize it and recite it as naturally as possible, we can recite it aloud or internally, as we prefer.

I speak for my personal experience, I chose one of these when I do meditation with my Amato Japamala,

Here where I bought it

Mala Spirit

I focus on Mantra and its meaning I feel it vibrate, I feel it in my deep soul, trying to shell the seeds of “my Garland” I abandon myself to it in my magnificent daily meditation.
